Roblox has broken the record for the most concurrent users on a platform, beating the likes of Steam in an epic weekend. And it’s all thanks to two huge games. It’s no secret that Roblox is massive. Its games are incredibly popular, with huge player counts across its most loved adventures. However, that’s also spanned to the platform itself, with Roblox now breaking the record for the most concurrent users on any platform with 47.3 million players online at the same time. The number pushes it just past Steam’s peak of 41.2 million in March 2025. What’s more, is that we have two games to attribute most of the record success.
Roblox ‘war’ breaks multiple playercount records
Roblox hit the milestone after a weekend ‘war’ between two viral experiences, Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot. Both titles were locked in a head-to-head race to see who could attract the most players during their highly publicized bouts of Admin Abuse.
In the end, Grow a Garden came out on top with a staggering 22 million concurrent players, but Steal a Brainrot wasn’t far behind, hitting more than 15 million. Between them, the two experiences pulled in around 37 million players at once, meaning more than 77% of the record was thanks to these two games.
The timing of this record makes it even more striking. Steam’s peak earlier this year was considered untouchable, as the platform has long been the benchmark for concurrent PC users. Roblox not only topped it but did so by over six million.
The milestone also comes amid ongoing conversations about Roblox’s safety standards and content moderation. While its user base continues to grow, the platform faces pressure to balance massive player counts with stronger protections.
